Sponsorship

We are preparing for the Annual San Angelo Cowboy Symposium and Old West Celebration at the San Angelo State Park at O.C. Fisher. Last year the event hosted over 600 patrons and we are hoping that the event will continue to gain in popularity. We have partnered with the Friends of San Angelo State Park, a nonprofit organization for promoting the park, tourism and improvements.

This year the event will feature:

Cowboy Entertainment - Some of the best regional cowboy balladeers, poets, storytellers and guitarist, mounted cavalrymen, and Texas Ranger living history exhibits be performing Saturday. We've even got some old time western cowboy actors to put on wild west skits for the kids and of course there will be good old Texas Bar-B-Q.

Trail Rides - The state park is only one of few parks that promotes equestrian activities. The trails at the park have been recognized by the Western Horseman magazine and will be featured on a trail ride guided by our wranglers.

Kids Activities - Several activities are being planned to entertain our little buckaroos and buckaretts. Some of the activities we are working on are barrel races (on stick horses of course), branding, plus other arts and crafts to teach our children about their western heritage.

The funds from this event are used to:

Preserve and protect the park for future generations.

Enhance the equality of education, interpretive and recreational opportunities in the park.

Here some of the projects already accomplished or planned for the year:

RANGE Outdoors - brings disadvantaged your to the park for outdoor adventures.

Assisted park personnel with the purchase of fencing material and welding machine.

Free Day In Park - No admission fees for the day and are guest are show the features of the park
